The small village of Numana is located in a natural bay at the foot of Monte Conero, a rocky promontory covered in lush Mediterranean vegetation.
Numana is divided into two parts: Numana Alta, a historic village perched on a hill, and Numana Bassa, by the sea. Numana Alta has retained its old-world charm with its cobbled streets, arches and stone houses: from here there is a splendid view over the bay. Numana Bassa is the most popular seaside resort, with a lively seafront promenade, well-equipped beaches and places to spend summer evenings.
Numana's beaches are of fine gravel, washed by a clear sea with shallow waters, ideal for families with children; water sports such as sup, windsurfing and kitesurfing are popular, as are boat trips to explore the natural beaches and hidden coves of the Conero promontory.
